Default Rear window regulator replacement

This was done on a 2001 s4. My regulator top plastic pulley broke and i was unable to roll my window up.

Start by removing the door panel from the car (Sorry not pics). Disconnect all the electrical connectors from the door panel and the door handle cable.

Disconnect the door lock cable

Take pics of where the cables feed through the frame so its easy to reinstall. I forgot to feed it through and it was tricky getting it in the right spot.

Shows lock cable that needs to be disconnected

This shows two torx screws that hold the frame to the door (total of 4. Two on each side)

Remove these two torx screws and manuver the glass off the frame and put it aside.

Drill out all the rivets holding the regulator into the frame. Here is rivet number 1.

Rivet number 2.

Number 3.

Number 4. (Shown with the window still installed) this is why you need to take the glass off the track.

After drilling, your left with this..

Place the new regulator into position.

Get a rivet gun out and some proper sized rivets and secure the regulator into place

Then put the motor onto the new regulator and reinstall the glass.

Then reinstall the window into the car.
