Default I won't be happy until the chairman brings Porsche back into the fold, but that RS4...

whoa Momma - all that useable hp and torque...and those wheel flairs, bring 'em on! Perhaps, when the wife is ready to upgrade her Renwaggon. Like you...I'm into that right car for the right situation thing. It's not either/or but, this AND that, like say a 996 GT3/RS4/S6, or any 911 turbo/S6 Avant/E55, or 348 Spyder/S8/RS4 (okay, I'm spinning out-of-control). I think my 911 cab/S4/Passat GLX wagon package isn't too shabby...

Know what you mean about work. I had to get a computer at home to curb my addicition to this site. With all the moving around that you do, I figured you must be a spy, and were off on some top secret kripto assignment. Speaking of which I did a little sneaking around the port in Boston last week...failed to find the prize before I got tossed. Haven't gotten up the nerve to go back yet.

Glad to "hear" from you...mpm

Default RS4 must be running KO4s (more)

If the KO3 in 1.8 is putting out ~240 horsepower with aggressive chip tuning and S4 is putting out 250 with moderate tuning and ~330 with aggressive tuning, the RS4 must be running two KO4s with moderate tuning. There is really no other way to make the same size motor put out that much power and still have it hold together and be streetable.

Twin KO4s on my S4? Sounds very interesting.

Default More thoughts........

The 225 hp TT is running a KO4 right? Would it make sense to look at the internal engine changes made from the 180 hp TT to the 225 version as being the same changes done from the S4 to the RS4? Makes sense to me.

Default Yeah, I'm gonna race an SUV - NOT

I want something to DRIVE cross country. A 400lb sailboat does not qualify as heavy towing(and that won't go cross country). One lap of America is a RACE, but I admit there were a couple pickups this year. I have been 4 wheel drifting quattros for a long time, snow or dry pavement, what is so high and mighty about the RS4? It is for being driven.

If you want a fancy car that can't be driven more than 20 minutes at a time get a Ferrari (well, the new ones are a bit more tame). SUV's are the answer to a question that I would never ask, but there are some nice ones.

Default Yes, but not often

My windsurfer and snowboard have languished in the garage for over 2 years now, my mountain bike was stolen 5 years ago and I can't afford a new one yet, my parents have the Kayaks. I do rollerblade, swim, play volleyball, and a little tennis. I sail on other people's boats for now, just got back from the lake an hour ago. Camping in Dallas is out of the question with the heat right now. Nowhere to backpack either.

I have loved the RS2 for years, saw several in Nice last summer. If I get a job in Europe I hope that the new S4 and RS4 will drive down the price of a used RS2. They still go for $35K.
