hands-free pre-wiring
Actually...I posted a related question on the A4 forum. There's listed "hands-free pre-wiring for Motorola cellular phone" on the car specs. Does that only work with the supplied phone, or can I wire up a StarTac?
BTW, I still have to dial the thing with my knee on the wheel!

Test drive both...
In stock form, the S4 tip should be quick enough, and the trans used ought to be able to handle the extra power from a chip upgrade (same tranny used with V8??). I'm planning on getting the tip because I deal with alot of traffic every day. Personally, I think the S4 is a great all-purpose car, so the tip isn't totally out of character. For all out sporting though, I'll be getting a matching silver/onyx alcantara Boxster S with the 6-speed.

Actually....
I remember years ago when the 300ZX twin turbo came out that the auto was actually faster because it kept the turbo spooled up between shifts more than the manual did. With the TIP technology now, it just might be faster. Audi said that for the MY2K their TIP was going to be retuned for more performance! Let the shoot out begin!!

Re: Control is having Tip shifters on the steering wheel as the S4 has......
What if you find yourself in a full-lock situation? Or worst yet, quickly switching from full left to full right? With a stick you can shift while push-turning the wheel with the left hand (power steering). Think about it.
