2016 or wait for 2017 S6
Okay. My A4 is getting small and I need to upgrade to something bigger. Like the S6 a lot but if I order a 2016 now, by the time it gets delivered the 2017's will likely be available to order in early March. I'm not in a super hurry.
I've heard they may upgrade the dials and driver screen to the full large screen seen in the TT and the new Q7. Anyone else heard that?
Any other upgrades/changes to the 2017 model that folks have heard or speculated?

Nobody knows what will be changed since its still the 2016 order cycle and the new order guides, like you said, wont come out till march.
What you "heard" about the upgrades to the dash is incorrect. That wont come out until 2018 on the complete redesign.

Hyper is correct...no virtual dash until the next model update (if then). As Audi rolls this new technology out we will see how it is received.
There will likely be very few, if any, changes between the 2016 and 2017. If you need the bigger ride my suggestion is order it now. Once you get into the C7 you will quickly forget about how much you enjoyed the A4. Might as well get super satisfied sooner rather than later.

I believe everyone is correct. The A6/S6 was just updated for 2016. The dash added full graphics between the 2 analog dials. You get full google maps graphics in the center compared to just line drawings in models up to 2015.
Its not the full virtual dash but about 1/2 way to it. I still like the real dials - just not as versatile as virtual dash as far as gauge placement.
I don't see the 2017 being changed from the new 2016 version.

I hope they put the Tiptronic in it (The next S6) like they just did on the new S4 - it will definitely be an upgrade.
I just went from one of the last 2015 S6's to the 2016 SQ5. I loved the car but couldn't stand the tranny. That ever present lag is just not befitting this type of car. In normal 8/10's driving the SQ5 is much more enjoyable and feels much more refined, and even at 10/10's is as good as the DSG, while still making all the right noises.
It's time to deep six the DSG.
