Seems like a standup organization with happy customers. Good to know. Thanks.

I have an 8p A3 quattro. My path has been....APR stage one tune done 60,000 miles ago...about two years. (yeah I drive a lot.) within the next 10,000 miles I upgraded the intake, and put a 3" turbo back exhaust....went stage 2 tuned...that week lost my high flow fuel pump...car was down for a week...and needed new coils of course. Stage 2 brought the car from stock 200 ish hp...to 285hp...car dyno'd at 277 whp on an all wheel drive Mustang Dyno. I drove the car this way for about 40,000 miles with no issues, This tune is faster than an S4/S5/S6 stock...easy. And during a family medical crisis in which that A3 was asked to teleport me to my destination....repeatedly.
The car just turned 90,000 miles and we just decided to put an APR K04 turbo and tune in. Apr didn't have a specific tune map for my box code...and of course didn't say anything until after the turbo kit was purchased and installed..so I had to run the K04 on the same 2.5 bar stock sensor....but to their credit, they got the file out in about two weeks. I went back to my tech and downloaded the file...changed to the new 3 bar map sensor and went for a test drive...Yeah...it pulls much harder...but as I drove the car I felt like something was missing, or not quite right. Next day I dropped a coil pack. Actually two. So I ordered new ones and replaced them the next day. Not quite a week later, after 3 weeks of the new K04 actually being installed, two weeks running it on a lower boost file...and one week on the APR K04 tune...the turbo self destructed. Know one knows what really happened other than it must have been a bad turbo from the factory. It's a brand new Borg Warner K04. APR just mods the manifold and stuff to make it plug and play.
It's been about a week for APR and my tech to get a warranty replacement turbo kit. And it looks like atleast another week to actually pull and resinstall the new turbo. This part sucks.....but once we get this BS worked out I'll have a 400 hp little ripper.

The farther you go on motor mods the more the reliability is going to be an ongoing issue. It is just a fact of life.
