I got an email from the dealer which is a screen shot of the order system. It shows arrive at port on 3/17 and at dealer week of 3/16 (obviously later in the week). I ordered on 11/25.

Given that they're expecting it on a ship in 3 weeks, I'd assume production should start this week.

Mine says Dealer Delivered "Week of 3/23". The dealer said it's not normal for the Ship Loaded line to be within a month and Dealer Delivered within two months without a Production date though so the estimates from Audi may be wrong.

The time estimate is pretty loose until release to production is started, then inspection is typically a week later and the rest falls into place.

Not sure if this helps, but here's the Vehicle Order status from my A8. It's the last one I received with the ORDER STATUS shown as INTRANSIT FROM FACTORY, with the remaining ETA dates spot on.

Actual build and factory inspection was 3-weeks following the order's release to manufacturing, and was loaded onto the ship a week later. The Davisville (Rhode Island) Port Inventory Sheet my dealer gave me confirms the ETA dates as actually how the car's port clearance schedule went---10-days crossing the pond; 5-days from port arrival to transport carrier release; arrived at dealer (east end of Long Island, NY) 5-days after release to carrier.
