FLAC format playback...

I think the 48kHz sample rate limit is imposed by the MOST fiber network.
The MOST network on my 2013 S6 is actually limited to 16/44.1k.
It's possible the newer cars with MOST can support higher sample rates, but I would be shocked if they were not downsampling them to 48kHz. I sincerely doubt that the MOST system is carrying audio at 96K or higher.

The CD drive in the C7 is a transport, not a CD player, so it does not convert to analog before sending the audio over MOST.

I'm still trying to find a way to play ripped music videos with uncompressed audio, but so far I can only get 320kbps mp3 or aac to play. I like to play videos on long trips vs. just listening to music, but the reduced sound quality of mp3 vs. lossless is huge with the B&O system.

Has anyone tried using a Fiio player like an x7 or x5 with the AMI?
1. Does it work?
2. Can the MMI control the device like an iPod? Or must the device be controlled on the unit itself?

Hi Go123
Old thread I know, but, asking.
Have not been in these forums since about 2012 (can't remember my old username, so started new account) having had a 2002 Avant for 15 years. Just pick up a 2017 A4 Allroad, and was perusing the forums and ran across this. I too have gotten back into multichannel audio on the home side, but am super excited to learn that I can listen to multichannel in my new Allroad using FLAC.
You posted a link to the DVD Audio Extractor. Do I have to have a DVA-A reader on my PC in order for that software to rip to an SD card?Or will the standard CD burner do the trick?
