Here in Western NC I'm into my third winter with my S6. This is the first time I've had to drive out of my garage, 100 yds uphill to the private street and 2 tenths of a mile down a steep grade to the main road (also a mess) on nothing but solid ice, a good 1 1/2 to 2 inches thick. No problem at all on my "Hankook Winter I-Cept Evo" tires. Absolutely no slipping nor sliding. The return trip was equally uneventful. This is not to knock any other winter tire. I'm just saying if you're in the market for a set of winter tires, I highly recommend these. (BTW, back in September I took off my summer stock Pirellis, and put these Hankooks on and set out on a 5600 mile cross country vacation. They rode fine, smooth and quiet.)
