Ask your dealer for a night time test drive or perhaps a overnight loaner.

While the LEDs are OK for distance performance, the HIDs are better. I have the LEDs and they seem to provide a wider field, but I also require the distance performance due to age. For you kids out there, you will lose half your night vision (low light) every decade, starting some time between 40 and 50. On balance, the LEDs are not worth it, though they look cool. Cool without accompanying improvement of function is not efficient.

I am going to disagree with the above statement. Ive been driving these cars daily back to back (on test drives) and I can without a doubt give a testament to the ability of the LED's.

While the HID's are great, the LED's are a vast improvement in lighting up the path in front and the sides of you as well as giving more detail to the objects in the road. In rain or snow and especially fog they cut through like a knife and make driving in those conditions significantly safer.

I dont feel that the distance is any better or worse but with the addition of the LED high beams you will never feel like you cannot see in pure darkness. If you feel like you have problems seeing at night then adding the night vision assistant sounds like something you need more than anything.
