Just found this part number which seems to correspond to the Iphone 5 adapter for AMI/MMI... says back ordered or maybe is not yet in stock? Does anyone have any info?

Since I don't have an IPhone or IPod, most of the cables in the MM package are useless. My dealer kindly traded a micro USB cable to use with my Android phone for the video cable (who needs that?). I would be happy to dump the lot too, especially the two for Apple products. Just another way to inflate the price. The female USB cable may be of some use, but I prefer to put a card in the dash rather than use a USB key.

Says it's available but no description if it's indeed an AMI to Lightning cable. If it is, it would be very interesting to know if it will pass video (unlike the Apple 30 pin to Lightning adapter).

I just use the Apple 30 pin to lightening adapter you can buy at any Apple store. It costs like $30 and works with the standard MMI cable.

Sure, that works but the Apple 30 pin to lighting adapter will not pass video to the MMI screen like the red grommet AMI cable does with an iPhone 4s or earlier. This new cable might also be able to finally do that with lightning connector iDevices.

They never got back to me. Then I tried to order from two places that had the cable listed, but its not available yet anywhere in the US.

However, check out this thread where the same conversation is happening. One guy on that thread has one, but he hasn't yet posted about video pass through.

Mine suddenly stop working with my iPhone 5s, the adapter will charge but will not transmit audio any longer. Not sure if the MMI update caused this.

The Yellow grommet AMI to Lightning cable is the one to get. It passes video.

The White grommet cable does not. Don't get that one. I'mnot even sure why it exists?
