The new Sport Package for 2016 S6 and S7 models includes Sport Diff, Dynamic Steering, and Sport Exhaust. I know that Sport Diff was included as part of the baseline 2015 configuration and that Sport Exhaust was not available at all. Can anyone point me to documentation that shows if Dynamic Steering was part of the 2015 baseline?

I've been wondering the same thing about the S6. It was an option overseas but I've no idea if we got it as part of the base, or if it wasn't available at all.

I was told that it wasn't available in pre-2016 S6/S7 models. It's been an option on the RS7 though (part of the dynamic package).

I found the 2015 Audi Sport brochure where it showed that the RS7 had Dynamic Steering as an option. The S7 section is silent on Dynamic Steering, so I assume it was not available as Alex was told.

Now the question is... What does it do? Does anyone have an RS7 owners manual that describes it?

I remember seeing some review that explained in detail (and they didn't like it too much), but this is all I found from a quick search:

I remember reading somewhere that in "Dynamic" mode that the ratio is locked. Don't remember where though, or for what model car.

The link to the silent Audi video in the R&T article seems to be the most helpful. It appears to me that Dynamic Steering allows a different steering ratio based on the vehicle speed. When speed is low, a given movement of the steering wheel provides more actual turning of the wheels than at high speed. This makes it easier to maneuver in parking situations, etc. At high speeds it makes for better cruising stability.

I hope to be trying it out for real in a week or two. My car should be docking in RI later this week.

I think you'll like the Dynamic Steering. I've had it on my last 2 D4 A8's (former one with hydraulic steering and now have it with the electric steering set up). I always keep it set in Dynamic mode where it gives the car a more fixed/stable steering feel when at speed...and also as discussed here, makes maneuvering at low speed quite easy. I also find that it keeps the steering firm and well coordinated with the rear sports differential when powering through back road twisties, especially giving you full control and confidence in tight downhill curves. If it helps enable a 4,600 lb. LWB A8 feel like a smaller "sports" car (not really exaggerating on this), then imagine the effect the combo of Dynamic Steering and the rear Sports Differential will have on an S7 or S6.😙
