Default Need SQ5 Winter/Summer wheel/tire combo advice.

I just purchased a 2016 SQ5. I will be selling the 20" OEM wheels and tires and replacing with 21's. I'd like to put 265/40's instead of the 255/40's for the summers but am thinking of going with all seasons so I can drive them into December here on Long Island NY. I've heard summers aren't great when it gets cold even if it is dry. Could go with 255's as well but like the bigger look if possible.

I'd like to put 19's on for the winters with winter tires (Jan/Feb/March). Probably a 235/55/19.

If anyone has experience with this potential setup - suggestions or advice would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks,

Gene

I won't be going with a dedicated summer performance tire on my OEM 21's now that the Pirellis are toast. Like you, I'm playing with the 265/40 option since you can get an all-season in that size. The overall diameter of the wheel increases marginally along with the width, but others have experienced no issues going to that size.

For winters, I went with a 20" setup. If I have to look at my winter setup for half the year, I want it to look good. I find the 19's to be too small for the Q5.

Pirelli Scorpion and Bridgestone dueller make all seasons that would fit. Considering giving those a shot based on what I hear about the summers...

Following. I am in the same boat. I have a 20 inch winter set up but my 21 inch summers are about gone. I am wanting to go with 265 Scorpion A/S. If I were you I would just keep the factory 20's and put some winters on those.

If you look at some of the replies on this thread - https://www.audiworld.com/forums/q5-...s-sq5-2910433/ - you can see some pics of the Pirelli Scorpion Verde A/S 265 40 21 tires on an SQ5. They look good.
