How many 2017 A4s have you seen on the road?
I got my 2017 A4 in mid-April. I'm pretty sure that was just as they were starting to ship. It is now 9+ months later and I've seen only 3 2017 A4s on the road plus one "probable". I live in the San Francisco Bay Area where Audis are very popular, so that's one reason I'm so surprised.
I assumed that there was a lot of dealer inventory of the 2016 models that were probably priced to sell and many new buyers would have opted for a good deal. I am still in love with the B8 platform. But after nearly a year of availability, I would have thought that more B9s would be on the road.
Has anyone else had this experience?

Don't see many on the road although need to look really very hard to identify it. However, I do see one exact same (trime level, exterior and interior colors) as mine in out company garage.

Not counting times I pass by the local dealer, I have maybe 9-10 in the last 4 months.
One of those I saw twice on two different highways on the same day (owner had put some distinctive stickers on it.)
Two I saw on the same day in parking lot of an upscale shopping strip center, mine not included.
I much more commonly see A6s, Q5s, and Q7s. A3s and A7s fairly frequently too, and some B8 A4s. I feel Audi headlights and tail lights are pretty distinctive, and you tell from a long distance if you see one on the road.

Well. I've seen around 5 Q7s and only 2 other A4s till date. But all these were when I was visiting other areas in IL (like places around 1-1.5 hrs away from where I live). I definitely keep my eyes open for all kinds of exotic cars and for new A4s

In Toronto I see these all the time now. There are 2 in my neighbourhood, 1 other on the floor of the garage I park in for work, and today when I went to the mall, I saw another one in the parking. I must say, I'm not to keen on the black A4. Don't think it looks that good. But that's just my opinion.
