2001 TT/225 Alarm problem
Just bought an 01 TT quat. One problem I'd like to fix is the alarm system. While driving, the door indicator lights flash. When you lock the car with the fob, the horn does not sound nor the lights don't flash. The dome light doesn't turn on while driving but will turn on when you open the door. Any thoughts?

UPDATE.
I was going over the car and found a small hatch on the left side in the cargo area. I opened the hatch and found a computer type cable in there with an empty holder of sorts. Is that where the alarm module should be?

On the left side right?
No that has nothing to do with the alarm. Let me think about your issue more and get back to you.
Congrats on the purchase though! Welcome to our community

Thanks for the reply. It is in the left side. Inside the small access panel, there is a cable that looks like a printer/computer cable. It looks like some sort of box fits inside a holder there, which is missing.

More to the story. After spending some time with the car, here all all of her issues: interior door lock switch does not work althought the light is on, interior motion sensor override button does not light up and the dome land map light does not turn on when the car is running - it works otherwise and alarm issue described below. Does this sound like a bad Central Control Module??

Sorry for the delay... I recently sold the car. Too small for a family man. I took the car to my mechanic who has a lot of time on Audis. It turned out to be a bad door door sensor. I didn't have it fixed to confirm but mechanic was certain that was the problem.

Thanks for the reply!
My car knows when the doors are open. The display between the speedo and tech show a picture of the respective door open when the car is on.
Did your car do that also?
My dome lights and power door locks switches between the seats only work if one of the doors is open..
Very strange. Here are the VAG Com codes related to the doors:
Address 35: Centr. Locks Labels: 8Nx-962-267.lbl
Part No: 8N7 962 267 A
Component: Central Lock D06
Coding: 00016
Shop #: WSC 00768
VCID: 3E7D34193A39F0EEA6F-4F02
2 Faults Found:
01559 - Drivers Door
61-00 - Won't De-Safe
01560 - Passenger Door
61-00 - Won't De-Safe
Can anyone help decipher these?
Thanks!

Same problem, TT Alarm problem
So I've got a 2000 TT with the same exact problem. Only inconsistency is that my visor lights(when the mirrors are open) and dome lights only turn on when the door is open regardless of whether or not the car is on. The red blinking lights on the door also always blink unless the door is open. I first got the car when I was 15 and the alarm and electronics worked perfectly. Then, I rolled the windows up by holding the key in the lock position and when they rolled all the way up I heard a "thunk" in the door and started experiencing all those problems. I've had the car for almost three years now and I've yet to track down the problem.
