Default general kit question

i have a white mk1 tt, its pretty rare in that color

i want to get a full body kit. front and rear bumper + side skirts

body man said i will need to paint the car to match the kit. obviously it doesnt come white out of the box

he says kit wont match if i paint it alone and that he needs to spray the car a bit to make it match

i dont want to touch the paint but i want the kit

what do i do, must i really paint the car

Find a new painter, I custom paint stuff all the time it's my job and I know you can match any color. A good body shop only paints the part that's needs replacement .

He may be right depending on condition of your existing paint... he may need to do what is called a blend... where he paints past your new pieces to not have dramatic difference.

Also depends how much you want to pay. Some paint shops paint whole cars for price of others to color match the kit.
