knocking sound when letting of gas pedal
Hey guys, just got a 2000 Audi TT a few weeks ago and I've already done a lot to make sure she's running healthy (timing belt, battery spark plugs, etc). Anyways I just started hearing (about two days ago) a knocking sound that only happens when I let off the gas and it is engine braking at about 3k rpm. When I accelerate there is no sound nor when I put the clutch in, only when decelerating purely off of the engine. I also noticed some wobbling/vibrating at about 80 and it all happened at what feels like the same place. It feels like its coming from the transmission area, front left, and possibly right under the clutch pedal. Anyways, wondering what you guys think. I have a few ideas in mind of what it could be (clutch, tranny or CV joints). Please let me know what you guys think. Thanks.

Thanks for the link, sorry for the delay. Eventually the knocking turned to squeaking. It was just some bad CV joints that was all cleared up after I rebuilt my front end, just in case anyone else has issues similar to this.
Thanks again.
Thanks again.
