Mirror Switch Replacement

Mirror Switch Replacement
I just picked up a 2001 Coupe 225 with 52K miles. One of the few flaws on the the car is the drivers door mirror switch. The **** is broken off. I have the ****, and the shaft that broke is only 1/8" diameter clear plastic. I think it directs light from inside the switch to the white line on the ****. I far as I can determine the part number for the switch is 8N095956501C. Unfortunately, the best price I can find for it is around $125. Is there any low buck alternative to the Audi part? I see a bunch of inexpensive similar looking VW/Audi switches on eBay, but don't know if any of them will fit. Any suggestions?

Did you ever find a less expensive alternative?
Hey Shwarz....just wondering if you found a less expensive alternative....I have the same issue and have seen all the other switches but not sure if the cheaper ones will fit.....have you found anything yet?

I purchased this switch from eBay:
http://www.ebay.com/itm/171514596018?ru=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.ebay.com%2Fsch%2Fi.html%3F_from%3DR40%26_sacat%3D0%26_nkw%3D171514596018%26_rdc%3D1
But it took forever to get and at this point I'm not sure it will work. It is similar to the TT switch and has the same Italian manufacturer (Bitron) logo on it. It comes with a bezel, where the TT switch is without, but the basic internals look the same. I ended up buying an Audi switch from Jim Ellis, as I was ordering some other small parts and needed to justify the shipping cost. I haven't installed it yet, but once I do I plan on seeing if I can swap some of the eBay switch parts into the original to repair it. I'll post the results in a couple of weeks.
