Default Dealership told me this is common on TT's, and recently happened to me

All of my service has been at the dealership. They claim to have a process for re-tapping (or something) to try and fix this....just because how common it is.

I suspect what is most common is untrained techs doing oil changes.

It's working OK now, but I suspect a new oil pan is in my near future. :-(

if it's common at that dealership. Those threads are DEEP, and there's no reason for them to get mangled except for incompetent cross-threading or zealous over-torquing.

Just change the pan to a hybrid pan. Order the adapter for the return line from turbo. I did the entire job in 1 hour. For the 2 bolts next to the trans use ball end allen wrench. Get the 6" long 3/8 drive. Makes job easy. Good luck.
