Default POLL: How many of you bought the aftermarket armest

and do you guys think it's worth $300 for an armrest and lose one or both cupholders? I am thinking of buying one of those and would like some opinions before I jump in and get one.

Thanks

How did you modify the cupholder to fit in the same space with the armrest?

Default This is what you do....

You basically just cut the stock one in half. Someone posted a step by step w/ pictures. Very easy to do...! I used a dremel tool to cut the stock one in half! Plugged the holes, trimmed the rubber and that's it!

Default Most certainly! I also picked one up from another forum member...

and must say - definitely the dogs bollocks! Got a great deal on it brand new. Having now seen the cupholder, I wouldn't bother buying one given the choice - if you're fairly confident with a couple of tools and don't mind modifying your current dual setup, you can make your own quite easily. Additionally, some people have mounted the dual cupholders in a horizontal position in the roadster with no ill effect asides from losing a few inches of rearward seat travel. Having had it for only a short period of time, I would most certainly recommend it. Go for the Stratmosphere one - it is by far the better engineered of the few that are out there - once you see it, you will understand why.
