Chipping a TT Mk2 3.2 V6
I've owned a TT Mk2 3.2 V6 Coupe since 2009. It was about 10 months old when I bought it and I'm finally ready to kick up the performance a notch or two before I sell it in two or three years.
I'm seeking a good bang for the buck option and heard that chipping it is probably my best option. I currently have 250HP and chipping it should take me to 300 or even 320HP. Any suggestions on good shops that will do this within 100 miles of Philadelphia? How much (all in) should I expect to pay and are there any other affordable performance upgrades I should consider??

Normally, those big gains are seen with turbos. I don't think chipping is going to get the gains you expect without other add-on's, like cat-back exhaust system, air intake(SRI), fuel rail, low pressure fuel pump, performance plugs & lighter pulley for better pedal response. Not to say it's not worth it, especially getting things like a higher red line, no speed limiter, valet mode, etc, and of course a few more ponies never hurt. If you have a DSG, that might be worth getting re-programmed or if a 6 speed stick, I'd think short shifter and new bushings. The ECU on a non-turbo only brings minimal gains compared to a turbo'd engine. APR and GIAC have been my favorite vendors for chipping, but there are more vendors and you'll discover them as you read more on this site.

Just a quick follow-up. I'm going to get a tune on my 3.2 engine ECU & dual clutch transmission. I'll give more details after the work has been done. Should be within the next couple of weeks. Gains of 16hp and similar torque numbers are expected. Launch control is the last thing I need, but I can't wait to test that. lol

My '09 3.2 had launch control. No ECU change. I'm thinking maybe you already have that feature. I never chipped mine, upgraded the air intake was all, seemed to add a few horses, but not much difference. The intake (Neuspeed) looked pretty sweet, for whatever that's worth. I really loved that car...

Out of curiosity what tune are you using to gain 16HP & TQ? I'm looking into a tune as well once some other issues are sorted out. APR is showing 5HP & 22 TQ on their tune. I was told that would be felt.

This:

I had thought there was a tune for the dsg, but the vendor is looking around for me. The downside was that I have to buy the remote unit to do the ECU tune and it's expensive. I told the mechanic to call me as I was not willing to buy an expensive device that will most likely never be used after the 1st stage 1 ECU install.

Excellent! Thanks for the link. Bob Hindson Racing is a local dealer for me. They also do APR work and are a very well respected operations. Looks like a road trip to Massachusetts maybe?
Thanks Again.
Thanks Again.

I'm going to contact that tuner in MA again and see if he does the APR ECU tune. If so, I may get that and have him do the DSG from 034motorsport. I don't think I need to buy the remote unit for the DSG tune which is expensive for something I wouldn't use.
Years ago, I was at a tuner shop in New Hampshire for a tuners day event. GIAC was on site and gave me a free beta tune for my 2004 3.2 DSG convertible. The only noticeable difference was pedal response and the initial get up and go from a stop. Alas, they never brought that tune to the public. I guess I only got it as I had done so much work done there from other cars. 2000 VW turbo beetle & 2002 TT 225 coupe. Exhaust, tunes, suspension, gauges, etc.
