Looking for Advice Ahead of 2009 TTS Purchase
Hello. I'm new here having moved over from the Mk1 TT board. I had to sell my 2002 a couple of years ago but now have my eye on a 2009 TTS, White, with Premier package and the 6-spd auto, with roughly 42K miles. When I bought my used 2002 I was made aware of the problem with the instrument cluster and was able ascertain I had the replacement before I bought the car. I'm looking for this kind of information on the 2009. Anything I should know, ask about or check specifically before I consider purchasing would be appreciated.

Not nearly as many issues as the Mk 1

2.0T TSI Timing Chain Tensioner Failure - Redline Speed Worx (RSW) : Redline Speed Worx (RSW)
Thanks Vegas, much appreciated. I searched and found the above link. I think this may be what you are speaking about? I now remember how I had the timing belt and associated parts/pieces changed on the 2002 because of problems with the belt breaking prematurely. I will have to ask about this specifically if I decide to pursue. I am starting to get cold feet as I recall all of the nickel and dime stuff the 2002 put me through!

My 2009 TTS has been reliable
Mine has 31K and I have not seen the dealer except for a recall on the fuel tank. I do all of the scheduled maintenance myself and I track the car a few times a year. One thing you should ask is if the DSG tranny fluid and the Haldex fluid have been changed. Should have been done around 35K miles.
