Default TT 8J intake upgrade

So... I recently DIYed an intake upgrade on my TT using the mk5 gti's/a3 intake kit from K&N.
I had to cut the battery mount for a3/gti and install it in order to install the heat shield at the filter side.

without modified battery mount & heat shield at filter side

with all installed.

let me know what ya think

Looks good. I love reading about mods but I've always been a mod-chicken, afraid to do something that messes up the yin-yang balance of the car. I have looked at the air intake as a first mod for my TT. Why did you use the GTI intake instead of the K&N TT intake?

Nice ! I've also thought of going to the K&N filter. Did it make a noticeable difference in performance, and did you need to do any re-tuning?

Well.. when I did some research, they were almost the same design or still comes with the heat shield that requires GTI/A3's battery mount to install.
So I decided to go with the one that comes with full pipe. I could've choose the CTS or Unitronics but I wasn't sure if they would've been compatible with the battery mount installed. So i chose to go with the K&N which had the full installation video over youtube.

I definitely feel less turbo-lag. feels like a bit faster when accelerating. I don't know if it's because of the intake amplified the turbo sound or not but it feels faster.. lol
I haven't done anything other than intake yet.
But I plan to install APR downpipe by the end of this yr, and flash the ECU to APR stage 2.
