Default TT RS specs questions (and one other)

Hello friends!

I am reading conflicting reports as to when the TT RS was upgraded to 360 HP. Was it for the 2012 model year? Or was it in 2012 for the 2013 model year? Or are SOME 2012s the 340 and some the 360? And is there any "plus" designation on the 360 HP cars? I've never seen that.

Also, just wanted to confirm: no DSG on any US TTRS's, in any year? Or is it now available as an option?

Also, a different question - how much HP upgrade, say through APR for example, can the 2010 TTS (not TTRS) DSG clutch handle? Would 330 HP be safe?

I did try a search first.

Thanks in advance!

Not sure about the engine questions, however, as far as I know, in the US only a 6MT was available on the TT-RS, never the DSG. There are currently no transmissions optional or standard for this car in the states, as Audi has opted to no longer export it here

Assuming you are in the USA. Just check the Audiworld model guide for official Audi of America specs. Are you confusing 360HP with 343 Ft-lb of torque? The USA TTRS was only sold with a manual tranny and only sold as a 2012 model and 2013 model. There are no significant differences between the MYs.

There was a post in the past few months on the quattroworld or Fourtitude Mk 2 forums from a guy who boosted his Mk 2 roadster to over 400 HP but I don't remember if he swapped the clutch. He wanted a TTRS roadster so he was forced to build his own.

Yes, I'm in the US.

I'm definitely talking about HP, not torque. I read that in 2012, they introduced the "TT RS Plus" which bumped HP from 335 or 340 to 360. So apparently, in Euro-spec models prior to 2012, they had the lower HP.

Interestingly, I also read that the DSG became available (as an option, I think) in later years because they started using a different clutch that could handle that amount of power. Is this true in Europe?

When you read various articles, it's not always clear whether they are talking about Euro or US models, or both.

right -= As Vegas-roadsTTer said, The USA model only came in 1 configuration: 360hp with 6-speed manual (DSG was never an option in the US). So you could say, the US Audi TT RS is like a Europe-spec'd TT RS Plus without DSG.
