You should ask the A5 board. I've owned convertibles for 30 years and NEVER use a car wash. First, it washes off any water repellent on the top. Second, air blowers put undue stress on the rear window that accelerates separation.

You'd be hard pressed to find someone recommend taking a convertible through a car wash. Even the touch less car washes have to strong of a jet flow of water coming through the sprayers. If you must, go to manual car wash and keep your distance with the sprayer. I had a 2004 3.2 TT convertible that never saw a car wash, owned for 6 years and looked like New when sold.
