Default Ball Seat or Cone Seat lugs

Hello,

Sorry if this is a stupid questions;

Does the 2016/2017 Audi TTS use ball seat lugs or cone seat lugs?

Just ordered a TTS (so I don't have it yet) and trying to get winter rims now so I don't have the made rush at winter.

I've looked around the net but couldn't find anything specific to the Audi TTS.

Thank you,

Sorry, one more question.

What shank length should I be getting?

Usually have a tire shop take care of all this kind of stuff for me. But want to learn and do it myself now.

Thanks again.

Ball seat. 28mm OEM bolt length

Here's an example that I use with my 19" OEM [Summer] rims. I got them for locking but also because they are innately black so I don't need the plastic caps that come with the Audi locking lugs (grey plastic caps I painted black; which I use with my 18" Winter rims).

Good to learn. None of us were born with this knowledge ... except adg44 of course

Quick question.

I need to get cone seat lug bolts for my winter rims.

Does anyone know how much thread sticks out through the OEM rim with the OEM ball seat lug bolt?

I'm not sure if I just need a cone seat lug bolt with 28mm shank OR if I should be matching how much tread sticks out beyond the rim as I'm not sure if aftermarket rims have different "thicknesses" to the depth of the cone seat.

Just don't want to get 28mm shank cone seat lug bolts and find they are too short because the rim is "thicker" than the OEM rim.

Sorry my 2017 TTS is still about 3 months away so I can't measure myself.

Thanks,

What wheels do you have? You should be able to contact the manufacturer and they can tell you what you need.

They are Audi replica rims that I bought 2nd hand. So I don't have that info.
So my best bed is to get how much thread sticks out of the OEM wheel and just match to that.

I can wait until my TTS comes in and pull a tire and measure. I just wasn't sure if someone already did this and I could get the lugs bolts taken care of now rather than later.
