It's confusing the dealers too
What this release really says in its very poor wording is that the Mk 3 will NOT be sold in the US at the beginning of the 2015 MY. This is not new since the same lag was seen in the US debut for the Mk 1 and Mk 2.
Instead they will sell the last of the Mk 2 and they have added some packages to try to boost dismal sales that will be even worse with the Mk 3 around the corner. This is to avoid the problem they had in 2007 in the US when there was not a 2007 model available for sale by dealers as they waited for the Mk 2 to pass all the required US testing. I am assuming that the "2015" models are, in fact, being built now and production (and thus custom orders) will end soon.
Expect the Mk 3 as an early release 2016 (about a year from now) at the soonest.
