Thinking about downsizing to 18" wheels
#72
I do understand that, but the point is that I've ridden in 3 different Caymans now -- base suspension w/18s, sports suspension w/18s, and PASM w/20s, and all of them rode significantly better than the TTS with 19s regardless of the TTS' suspension setting. If the TTS offered a significant handling advantage over any of those 3 cars to justify the ride penalty, that might make sense, but that's not the reality. Price wise, it's entirely fair to compare a TTS with a base Cayman, of course.

Since I have never driven a Porche, I really can't comment on ride comfort. But,
I have a TTs with 20" rims and I really don't notice much difference from my old MKII, except for a slightly stiffer ride and considerably tighter handling.
If anything bugs me, it's the lousy stereo.

With that said, the R8 rides very well. But then again I never found the TT or TTS to be too firm.

FYI: Tire Rack is now stocking the OEM Bridgestone Potenza S001s and they claim 24 lbs. for the stock 245/35-19 size
