Default UWE: After 402, I have codes 01316 and 18036???

01316 ABS Control Module

18036 Powertrain Date Bus: Missing Message from Steering Angle Sensor

Have ESP light on, Level Control Light on, and ABS light on... one day after the 417/414 change, and the codes can't be cleared by VAG-COM.

What gives?

Please post EXACT fault codes, the ones above are incomplete and at least missing the 2nd line.

Default Definitly nothing to do with the 402 mod. There seems to be a communication issue...

...between abs and steering angle sensor, I'd check the sensor, its wiring and clear the codes afterwards.

Default why doesn't it clear the codes now? ...

It let me clear the alarm and door codes, but not the ABS code or the steering angle code???

Default

Must be because there is still an issue with the communication. Did you check wiring/sensor?

Default No... read on for me...

I was assumming the problem was 402 related.

Someone else told me to "redo" the 402 mod, and then try to clear the codes, but my LF airbag let out a ton of psi when I was in the Level Control application module and in block "01" when I went to the "402" value to change it, you could feel the LF bag deflate... so I calmed down, put the car in level 2, and measured each wheel three times, then adjusted the values in each block to get me back to a 15mm drop in front and a 12mm drop in back...

I just got the car last week, and I can't get a bentley from Ross-tech, so I'm not happy at the moment...

I did put on RS4 18" with H&R 15mm spacers, do you think that has anything to do with the ABS control module or the steering angle sensor???

Is the ABS sensor just a plug near the front brakes? I'd like to avoid a trip to the dealer here.

Default I'll try ESP Steering Angle Sensor Calibration (Ross-tech)...

And also disconnect and re-connect the abs sensor if you could help me locate it...
