Help needed, new VAG, the connection to the OBDII port is very loose...
I can get a signal while running the test, but when I go to get codes things start to go wrong. I'm almost certain it is because the port is too loose, it is barely connected. Is there anything I can do to get a better connection? MY2000 S4

Should not be loose, especially if it's a recent one.
You might want to take a careful look if there's something in your car preventing it from seating fully in the diagnostic connector.
