New To me Ross Tech Vag... Q's within..

Did all the steps everyone posted about making sure the Cable works and testng the port and everything passed.. I still cant comm with the car... I know this has been posted before but Im using laptop without internet access It came pre loaded with three verisons of Vag-Com, 512-1,409-1,311-2.

I keep getting " NO response from Controller" and I have tried on Both the 96'A4 12v and 2001 S4.
Any help would me great

Are you sure you have a genuine Ross-Tech cable?

No, he is not using a genuine Ross-Tech interface

We do not ship CDs with versions 512.1 as this version requires a dongle interface and we stopped stopped shipping it when the 6xx version of VAG-COM came out. If he is using 512.1, He is using a rip off of our software.
