Oxygen Sensor "need" to be replaced?
The CEL had turned on Tuesday night while driving home. So when I dropped it off to get its oil serviced (switched to full synthetic now, 85k miles), I asked the mech to give me the diag on the CEL. Turned out to be a sensor reading... P1131 - Bank 2 Sensor 1... aka, oxygen sensor on the drivers side. He said he cleared it, changed the oil, started her up, ran her, drove her, and she ran perfect without the CEL turning back on. We didnt replace the sensor, but Im wondering, should I? Does it need to be replaced?

WHAT THIS MEANS IS THAT SOMETIMES,OR ONE TIME,THAT O2 SENSOR DIDN'T WORK TO MANUFACTURE SPEC.IT MAY BE JUST A GLITCH(LIKE YOUR COMPUTER AT HOME)BUT IT MAY NOT BE.I HAVE SEEN MANY O2 SENSOR FAULTS BE CAUSED BY A BAD O2 SENSOR,AND NOT SO MANY BE A WIRING ISSUE, AND A FEW BE JUST A GLITCH.WHAT YOU NEED TO THINK ABOUT IS THAT THE O2 SENSORS ARE VERY IMPORTANT TO THE ECU AIR FUEL CONTROL MAPPING SO IF THEY DON'T WORK CORRECTLY THE MIXTURE WILL BE WRONG AND YOU WILL GET THOSE TYPE OF PROBLEMS.IF IT WERE ME I WOULD JUST REPLACE THAT ONE SENSOR AND SET READINESS CODE.THE AUDI HAS AN EAR ACHE AND NEEDS SOME DROPS.HELP IT......HELP YOU
