You could try something else too, what's your current value in MMI (#07) adaptation channel 002?

Hmm... sorry, then my idea doesn't work with US models.

i.e. just go from the module "before" (navigation) directly to the module "after" (can-gateway).

Default I think you mean "module".

Given what I've seen in the trunk of an A6, I'm not sure that's as straightforward as it sounds.

Default Theresias' suggestion *sounds* pretty straightforward. I found this diagram in my Bentley...

The Satellite Module (or "model" ;-) is #6. Just to confirm, the rough procedure would essentially be..

1) Disconnect/remove Sat module
2) Connect #5 (J507 Speech input module) directly to #7 (J401 Nav Unit)
3) Recode the CAN gateway to remove the Sat module

Am I missing anything? Thanks. -mike

Default In theory, yes, but in practice it's complicated by the fact that

that those optical lines are paired in a single connector at each module:

So you'll need to pull that connector from two of the modules, remove one of the pair of lines from each connector, then re-insert the correct line one into the connector that you're keeping.

Default I hate it when reality gets in the way of theory.

Thanks for picture and explanation. I found the procedure in the Bentley for servicing/separating the fiber-optic connectors. While it looks pretty straightforward and I have some experience working around fiber optics at work, I guess I'll need to take apart the rear luggage compartment first to see how all the lines are run before I dive into it. Again, thanks for all your (and Sebastian's) help.
