Some help understanding my VAG-Com readings
Hi Everyone,
I have been trying to find why I am running lean, and going into "Limp mode" Running Too Lean.
I am also not pushing the car other than this logging, to be sure I don't do any damage.
I am only getting a max of about 155g/s and my max engine load of about 105%.
I disconnected my MAF and my engine load went up to about 165%, so looks like my MAF needs replacing.
You could really feel the difference, seat of the pants.
I logged the O2 sensors, and got various readings,
How do I understand the Air/Fuel ratio from the reading??
25 was the Max reading at 100% throttle open,
to -8.6 at throttle closed.
When I disconnected the MAF, I got the Engine light and the ABS light ON, is this normal??
I would appreciate any feedback
Cheers
Steve

Re: Some help understanding my VAG-Com readings
Ummm Some more info for you.
This is a 2000 S4
Also, looking at the Spec'd Boost and the Actual Boost,
I get values like 2040 Spec'd, 1790 Actual
Is this normal, or should the 2 values be close to the same??
Cheers

"Latest" is not a version number. :)
If you use a VAG-COM Version 512.4 (which is the latest), put these 4 files in your /VAG-COM/Labels/ directory.
http://www.ross-tech.com/vag-com/download/label-files/4B-01.lbl
http://www.ross-tech.com/vag-com/download/label-files/4Z-01.lbl
http://www.ross-tech.com/vag-com/download/label-files/8D-01.lbl
http://www.ross-tech.com/vag-com/download/label-files/078-907-551-AZA.lbl
Also, delete these 2 files:
4Z7-907-551.lbl
8D0-907-551.lbl
After this, your "latest" VAG-COM version will dislay ranges and specifications (e.g. for the MAF).
So finally you will notice, that a "good" MAF should reach at least 180 g/s.

Re: "Latest" is not a version number. :)
Cool thanks for that,
I will do that now.
I am running 512.4-UD, but I couldn't answer before as the computer was in the car
Now the next Question,
I have been running Lean for some time now,
Not on Boost, as I was in Limp Mode for a long time until I got my VAG-Com,
What are the risks to the engine running lean all the time for town running??
I have now disconnected my MAF, so I shouldn't be running lean now.
Appreciate the Message
Cheers
