I tried everything, only the radio/CD and TV/Video(I have a back up camera) show in the cluster. I tried to put values (codes) from 1 to 39 on Module 17 (instruments) on channel 62 without luck. Anyone has had a similar experience or can think of what I might be doing incorrectly?.

I have a 2002 3.0 with D-navgiation. Both TMC and navigation have letter(B) at the end of their serial/part#

Have you ever tried a different TMC? I used to see about a 15% failure rate on them.

Yes, I did replace one of my TMC's and worked for the person that I sold it to.

So the wiring is next to check. It's real easy to mix up the two sets of CAN-L and CAN-H wires. And then of course you have to be connected to the correct pins on the back of the cluster. Plus 12V and ground.

Drop me a line if you are unsure of any of those and I'll look up the schematic I created for this.

The 2002-03 A6 is slightly different (from B5 A4/S4 and earlier A6's) because it has CAN bus wiring in place and you don't have to remove the cluster to tap into it. The other models did not use CAN, but instead the CLK/DATA/ENA lines. So I'm not sure if you would get radio info on your FIS already or not. But you will need to get the TMC wiring right to have nav on the FIS.

Here is where each wire on the TMC goes:

- CANL (nav bus): TMC position 8 to Nav+ green 26-pos connectior position 26.
- CANH (nav bus): TMC position 9 to Nav+ green 26-pos connector position 13.
- CANL (Audi bus): TMC position 2 to Nav+ conn I position 12. Remove the terminal from conn I and only attach to the wire in the harness.
- CANH (Audi bus): TMC position 3 to Nav+ conn I position 7. Remove the terminal from conn I and only attach to the wire in the harness.
- +12V switched: TMC position 6 to Nav+ conn III position 4, and also to Nav+ green 26-pos connectior position 4. (I'm assuming that you already have +12V Switched attached).
- Ground: TMC position 12 to Nav+ conn III position 8. (Also assuming that GND is already attached).


More than likely you had to remove the cluster anyway to get to the GALA, illumination, and switched +12V. Here is that info for reference.

Instrument cluster BLUE connector:
Pin Number, Wire Color, Function
20, Gray/Blue, Illumination
3, White/Blue, Speed (GALA)
1, Black, +12V switched
