Uwe or Andy: are the USB interface cables sold separate from the software?
returned from Germany and I packed my cable with my household goods and it hasn't come in... yet. Been steadily working on my car but need the cable for my laptop. Recommendations / suggestions? TIA!

are you sure? i dont think each software key is specific to each USB cable...
someone correct me if i'm wrong, but isn't registration for the software but not the interface cables; unless it contains a chip or capacitor or something to identify it with a specific software license?

No, but don't blame the software for your faults!
As you allready said your interface is still on it's way and not lost or something.
If you loose your screw driver you have to buy a new one, or in this case you have to wait until it arrives.
You may call Ross-Tech directly and tell Andy about your problem, but I guess the answer you will get is: "Wait until it arrives".
