There is only one Vag-Com that you can rely on for mods and is used by most Audi owners here. That's the VCDS by Ross-Tech. Other cables are either knock offs that will become useless as Ross-Tech updates their software or will be limited in what they can do if anything. It's not inexpensive but will continue to work in any VW or Audi today and in the future.

You don't provide any info on your model or year but if it's of recent vintage and all you want to do is run scans for fault codes and make some basic changed, look at Carista. It's inexpensive.

Thank so much for your reply, I did indicate its 2014 A4 with MMI.
I do have Carista but it can't turn on Drive Select.
Ross Tech has a few cables, which one should I get?

What platform do you intend to use for VCDS?

Windows laptop: Ross-Tech Store: VCDS License with Micro-CAN Unlimited VIN (most VW '05.5 to current)

Web (Smart Phone/iPad, etc.) Ross-Tech Store: VCDS License with HEX-NET (WiFi/USB) 10 VINs (All VAG)

Note that the Web p/n I referenced restricts the user to scanning up to 10 different discrete VINs. (The 10 VIN license may be upgraded to the unlimited license by paying the difference in fee.)

I have used the HEX-NET interface cable since 2014 without issue.

Note that the Micro-Can cable listed above does not show that it's compatible with the 2014 A4 (see their compatibility list). The cable version that works with virtually all Audis is the HEX-USB-CAN version (there is no limit on VIN usage with this cable):

Ross-Tech Store: VCDS License with HEX-USB+CAN Unlimted VIN (All VAG)

The HEX-NET wifi mobile version as mentioned would work as well.
