VCDS on Mac
Cross- posting this here..
Anybody out there get the VAG software to work using Parallels on a Mac? I have a Macbook Air which I don't really have room to run Bootcamp on the SSD, but do have parallels installed (Lion and latest parallels version).. I called Ross-Tech but they just say it's possible but not supported.. curious if anyone has any feedback running it on Macs..

I hope we passed this FAQ 1.8 on to you where we talk about how to get VCDS running on a MAC? Yes?
Parallels has been far less successful and we do not have reference to threads where people have been successful. If we had such threads, we would post them for you.

I've read your FAQ and I called sales today.. bottom line is it might work, or it might not.. 20% restock fee if not..

I use it on Parallels and haven't had a problem.
The key is to make certain the the "Ross Tech HEX-USB" device is always assigned to the VM.
You do that initially by clicking on the USB logo on the bottom of the Parallels window.
Then you need to go to Parallels -> Preferences -> USB and assign it permanently to the VM.

I have it working using VMWare Fusion 4.1.3 with Windoze XP and OS X 10.8.2 on a 3.06GHZ MacBook Pro. I had Andy Smith at Ross-Tech help me with it just to be sure it works, and it runs fine. I have tried it on Parallels and had lots of trouble getting the software to run , so I switched to Fusion.
