For Sale 1988 Audi 90 Quattro 2.3L 10v
For sale - This is my first car and a very reluctant sale. I am selling because I am looking for someone who can look after this car better than I can.
Here are the specifics of my dear old 88 Audi 90 Quattro:
First, the bads:
- Dash cracked in 2 places
- Windshield cracked (been like this for 15+ years, no biggie)
- Needs a lot of TLC, i.e. needs a new muffler, tires, rear lower strut mounts, a/c charge.
- Paint is oxidizing on the hood and roof.
- Because of the play in the rear strut mounts, the car is not safe to drive.
- Passes smog with zero problems
- I just found out today that the smog place somehow introduced some kind of oil leak from one of the sensors, probably an easy fix, but it is what is prompting me to post this ad. I just dont have the time, motivation or money to fix my poor old Audi. Before this oil leak, the CAR NEVER LEAKED A DROP IN ITS WHOLE LIFE. Which is a testament to the engine.
The engine has about 190K miles on it, and doesn't leak from any of the gaskets.
The Good:
- It's a bad-*** hard as nails 1988 Audi Quattro 90.
I have so many good stories about this car, it really is a classic piece of machinery. If I had the space to keep it, I really would never ever sell it.
- Car comes with Thule rack and luggage pod.
- Options on the car: Leather, power steering, ABS, wood interior elements, heated seats, fog lights, ski bag, BBS rims, 10 CD changer, sunroof, locking diff, rear spoiler.
Color is Gray.
Price: $2000 firm.
Catch: If you bring the car back and show me that you fixed either the oil leak or the rear struts, or even a paint job, I will give you $1000 cash back straight up. I will give you 6 months to do this for the offer to stand.
Parts I will include with the car:
New calipers. New rear and front strut (only 1 side each). Misc other stuff I've collected over the years.
Car is located in Los Angeles, CA. Specifically near Woodland Hills.
If you want pics, PM or Reply here and I will post them.
PM me if you're interested in the car.
I'll post more pics soon

Yes it's still available and I lowered the price, and also found the source of the oil leak. Smog dude broke the white oil sensor. 4 dollar part. I was going to install it this weekend.
Car is in Woodland Hills, Los Angeles.

I fixed the oil leak, was an easy fix. Car starts right up and runs great.
Needs new tires, and strut bushings still. Safe to drive on streets but not on freeways until suspension is fixed.
The initial ad is obsolete regards to the price (I'll edit it after posting this). Price is now $1000 firm including all the parts I have for the car. It's a great car, just needs a fair bit of work to make it Look nice. Still don't really want to sell it, but wife is forcing me.
If no one buys it within the next month or so I'll put new tires on it and just pay to fix the suspension.
