The Audi TT offroad concept breaks the mold, combining the sportiness of a coupe with the lifestyle and utility of a compact SUV. The four-door model, which Audi is presenting at the Beijing International Automobile Exhibition, adds an entirely new expression to the Audi design language. Its plug-in hybrid drive with two electric motors and a system output of 300 kW (408 hp) provides for dynamic performance, yet consumes on average just 1.9 liters of fuel per 100 kilometers (123.8 US mpg)

This is a change of historic proportions: The new regulations of the FIA World Endurance Championship (WEC) force the automobile manufacturers to use significantly less fuel than last year. The new rules will come into effect at the Silverstone (GB) season opener on April 20. Audi is tackling the challenge as the 2012 and 2013 World Champions with a newly designed R18 e-tron quattro and two strong driver lineups. Besides demonstrating their driving skills in the race they will also have to make their personal contribution to efficiency – not least due to the fact that, following an adjustment of the regulations on short notice, race cars with diesel engines like the R18 e-tron quattro are subject to another reduction of fuel-energy compared to competitors using gasoline engines.
Audi customer-racing continues to add new teams with the announcement of CRP Racing joining the fold to contest the Pirelli World Challenge (PWC) at the Long Beach race. James Sofronas will look to defend his title in the GT class at his home course and welcomes talented GMG newcomer, Andrew Palmer, to the GT category.
