ADAC and DEKRA certify high quality of Audi models
In this year’s ADAC breakdown statistics, the Audi A5 and the Audi A6 impressed in their categories with outstanding quality and reliability. 92 model series were studied, and none of the cars could be more than six years old.

Topping the DEKRA Report for 2012 was the Audi A4, which was also honored as the car with the fewest faults in all mileage classes. The Audi A6 took third place.

Stadler named CEO of the Year
Wirtschaftswoche has named Rupert Stadler CEO of the Year. This decision was based on the CEO rankings by the financial research company Obermatt. Obermatt studied the balance sheets for 2010 and 2011 of the 115 largest, publically-traded Germany companies. The CEOs were assessed on the basis of the development of operating performance and stock market performance from one fiscal year to the next as well as a direct comparison with competitors.

Audi A5 Sportback outstanding as “Residual Value Giant”
Focus online collaborated with bähr & fess forecasts, a residual value forecasting specialist, to determine the loss in value when reselling new cars. The Audi A5 Sportback 2.0 TDI was the winner in the mid-size class. The “Residual Value Giant 2016” is predicted to have only a relatively low loss – 45 percent – when sold after four years.

“AUTO TEST Winner 2012”: Gold for the Audi A6
The Audi A6 was among the “AUTO TEST Winners” in 2011. This year it made it all the way to the top of the rankings and was named “Winner in Gold.” The editors of AUTO TEST came to this conclusion after more than 5,000 tests and sales consultations in all classes – from minicars to SUVs – and 1.8 million test kilometers. Among the criteria assessed were vehicle quality, safety, acceleration and fuel consumption.

Audi A6 Avant is “Best Family Car 2012”
“AutoStraßenverkehr” magazine named the Audi A6 Avant the “Best Family Car 2012” in the class “€35,000 to €40,000.” The results were based on the votes of 14,590 readers, who chose their favorites in seven price classes. Armin Villinger, Head of Sales for Key Accounts, Direct Customers and Used Cars at AUDI AG, accepted the award at the Auto Mobil International trade show on June 1, 2012.

Vorsprung durch Technik in India: 27 awards for Audi
With a total of 27 awards in one year, Audi won more awards in India than any other premium manufacturer. The Audi A6 and Audi A8 were particularly impressive, claiming seven honors. Audi was named best brand three times in the “Auto India Best Brand Awards.” “We have claimed an outstanding position in India’s premium market,” says Michael Perschke, Head of Audi India.

“2012 Flottina Awards”: Five golds for Audi
Audi was the most successful brand in this year’s “Flottina Awards” presented by fleet management trade journal “Flottenmanagement.” Audi finished on top a total of five times. The Audi A1, the Audi A4 and the Audi A6 were the winners of the small car, mid-size and full-size categories, respectively. Audi was also honored as “Most Innovative Brand” and for “Best Key Account Support.” Some 5,000 readers voted for the best fleet models and fleet service providers in 16 categories.

Audi Middle East: New models clean up
Audi’s drive to success in the Middle East continued unabated this year. In fact, the company won a total of seven awards this year, two more than last year. The new models, in particular, were very well received by the leading regional automobile magazines. The Audi A1, A6 and A7, for example, each won two awards in their categories. In addition, the Audi R8 GT Spyder was named “Best Premium Sports Convertible.”

Sporting honor
The Audi brand stands for success in racing, and not just in the eyes of the company. The trade journal “Auto Zeitung” polled its readers, and 58.7 percent of the participants associate Audi with racing success. That puts the company in first place, well ahead of Mercedes-Benz, Ferrari, Porsche and BMW.

Gold for Hans-Joachim Stuck
Hans-Joachim Stuck has been honored by the German Automobile Club with the “Gold AvD Sports Badge” in recognition of the versatile race driver’s life’s work. Stuck began driving for Audi in 1988, and many American fans still remember him for his appearances in the TRANS-AM series and the IMSA GTO. Stuck then drove the V8 quattro to the first DTM title for Audi in 1990. He has been Volkswagen Group’s Motorsport Representative since 2008.
