Exclusive: Audi of America Mk2 TT Video Shoot
The folks at Audi of Americas Denver-based interactive agency are at it again, this time shooting a new video starring a Brilliant Red Mk2 TT. Readers will remember a similar video shoot from early January which combined the Audi Q7 with an Apple iPod, laptop and monitor. At the time we could only speculate about the intended messaging, although we now know that Audi has been producing regular Vodcasts regarding various models, technologies and features. Does this latest video represent more content in the ongoing Vodcast series or something different? Based on what we know about Factory Design Labs we are willing to bet on the latter. The ultra-creative agency has energized Audis online presence since winning the account last fall. Audi of Americas website now includes a number of microsites, a more comprehensive Experience section and a much more robust and up-to-date vehicle configuration engine. Since Factory is charged with handling all online marketing activity this video shoot could very well be part of upcoming web advertising for the Mk2 TT. The problem with that theory, however, is that there has been an ongoing web-based TT campaign since early April. It seems doubtful that Factory would be shooting new video for online advertising. This got us thinking along a completely different path. With YouTube, Google Video and iFilm continuing to go gangbusters and the ability to embed video content in pretty much every blog, myspace page and discussion forum, perhaps Audi is actually looking for a new, fresh way to promote the Mk2 TT. And why not? Audi tends to be a cutting edge brand when it comes to automotive technology, thus it follows that advertising utilizing cutting edge methodology should be expected. At this point it is all speculation, however we understand from insiders that we should expect to see the final product no later than mid-May. As always, AudiWorld will continue to follow this story.
