Audi five cylinder RS-engine

It’s a powerplant that’s known by a multitude of nicknames, but a common one is the super car killer, and when you hook it up to the right car, it can certainly live up to that moniker well. Seen as a spiritual revival of the legendary 2.2 liter inline five when it appeared, the slightly bigger and much more modern 2.5 liter version proved that it still had what it took to shock the world, with the turbocharged firecracker producing 400 horsepower. While the TT-RS coupe also came with this engine, the reason it’s so high on the list is because of its use in the RS3 sedan, with the engine transforming the otherwise boring A3 into a four doored missile capable of making mince meat out of some of its rivals, with the BMW M2 being one of its most notable victims. Safe to say, that Audi is still the proverbial Merlin when it comes to making world class sorcery with its quirky five cylinder engines.
