VF Engineering Supercharger Kit Adds 200 HP to Audi R8 V10 Models
The bolt-on VF Engineering supercharger kit for the 2016+ Audi R8 V10 transforms the supercar into a world-beater.
Sadly, the Audi R8 is going away soon, ending a multi-year production run that saw that particular model gain quite a bit of fanfare as a suitable alternative to the Lamborghini Gallardo/Huracan on which it’s been based. However, it isn’t alone, with Lambo set to electrify its supercars and the naturally-aspirated V10, in general, heading to the great automotive graveyard in the sky. Regardless, those that want to add some serious power to their 2016+ Audi R8 V10 models can still do so, thanks to a bolt-on supercharger kit from VF Engineering.
This particular supercharger kit is compatible with a variety of Audi R8 V10 models from the modern era, including the R8 V10, R8 V10 RWS, and R8 V10 Plus. The kit consists of an air-to-water intercooled Eaton TVS2300 supercharger that can be installed easily with no permanent modifications, then removed completely with no problem – which makes it a bit more desirable given the R8’s near-certain future collectible status.
The results, on the other hand, are quite dramatic, with the supercharged Audi R8 V10 churning out 805 horsepower and 610 pound-feet of torque, which is roughly 200 more than stock in both aspects. The kit costs a cool $31,995, which is obviously a lot of coin, but then again, those are some serious numbers that will transform the R8 from a fast supercar into a truly world-beating machine in virtually every aspect.
However, VF Engineering’s supercharger kit for the Audi R8 V10 isn’t just about maximizing power – rather, the company notes that the power is predictable and linear throughout the rev range, and coupled with a tune, it results in a car with OEM-level drivability. It comes with a two-year parts warranty and can still be serviced by a dealer, and if the owner chooses to remove it, can do so with no lingering issues. That certainly makes this supercharger kit a pretty desirable item, particularly for those that want to maximize the performance of their V10-powered ride in a world that simply doesn’t offer many of them anymore.
