first gear vibrations when i let off the gas

when i'm in first gear and i slowly accelerate to around 3500 rpm's and then i let off the gas my car kinda jerks a bit , basically its not smooth.... why is this??? i'm approaching 200k miles... do i need a 'tune up' or ... what explain help please? ;D

really? crap.. i'm not really a fan of it, specially after dring my buddies '01 GTI VR6

Normal...that is drivetrain slack...

you can reduce it with stiffer tranny, engine, and snub mounts. It's probably especially bad for you due the 200k miles of wear on the mounts.

I conccur wholheartedly!!!! replace your mounts....

I would guess mainly the two trannys and then get a poly snub mount from 034, and that should help with quite a bit of the problem....I am doing exactly this in the VERY near future. Regardless you are still gonna have some normal slack as do I and most of us.

Tranny mounts aren't expensive and a poly snub mount I think is like 20 bucks at www.034EFI.com

(i have heard good things of these mounts)
