JET Performance - Amusing
For my own amusement I wrote JET Performance this email:
Do you have a performance chip for the Hitachi MMS411A ECM that managed the
12v V6 engine found in a 1996 A4 2.8 quattro?
They responded with this one:
We do have an ECU upgrade available for your application. The ECU upgrade
does require that the factory ECU be sent to us for modification. You must
purchase the upgrade package before sending the ECU to us for the
modification. Suggested retail is $399.00, and the part number is 65002. The
ECU upgrades are all done per the application, in other words, do all the
modifications you intend on doing before you get the ECU upgraded. That way
the program can be set up for the specific modifications. Hp gains would be
dependant on the extent of modifications.

Great "buyer beware" line: "HP gains would be dependent on extent of modifications"
In other words their modification does nothing (which we all know cant be done anyway) so all your HP increases will come as a result of what you do to your car mod-wise but send them "four-medium" so they can sit on your ECU overnight and return it to you the next day.
Is there a franchise opportunity here!?! Where do I sign?

JET Performance - Amusing that they told the original 12v Development forum . . .
after a member sent them a sample ECU to inspect and test, that they could not chip the MMS411 ECU, because Hitachi put the data and cpu on the same piece of silicon, making it completely unreplaceable and unflashable.
