Still having issues with hesitation
Im becoming extremly frustrated and have almost lost hope of ever figuring it out
so far:
No codes
Decent gas mileage 22-25 (93 octane)
New O2s
Cleaned MAF
checked all vacuum lines/Replaced a few
Cleaned ISV (helped idle)
Newer plugs/wires
No catalytic converters
I did the timing belt about 10k ago
I unhooked the EGR vacume line, plugged plenum/left other end open (EGR Mod) and it ran about as bad as it ever did... Maybe worse
Fuel pump? EGR? Injectors? ECU?... GOD??????
Any ideas?? The strangest part is how smooth and great the car runs when the hesitation stops...

I checked the wire and as far as I can see the insulation is intact. that doesent mean it isnt rubbing through where I cant see so I will have to try and snake it out this weekend. I also checked for arcing last night and there was none.
Its also strange to note that its been very wet the past couple days and the cars been running much better 90% of the time, coincedence? I dont know...
Again, thanks for the help and I realy do appreciate the posts you make here they have helped me big time in keeping this car going strong.

The coil wire issue showed up intermittently until I drove in a torrential downpour for a few minutes. Then things went bad -- really bad. Considering the wire routing I would not be surprised if your problem is in that area. Otherwise, I think you've pretty much exhausted all possible causes. There's also a chance that it's a compound problem: a little vacuum leak and a slightly out-of-spec MAF or something.
