Default Still having issues with hesitation

Well it has gotten progressivly worse since I last posted.. My car is hesitating especialy in low rpms. It now almost seems to go through a cycle of hesitating badly for about 10 mins of driving then the problem virtually disapears for a little while.
Im becoming extremly frustrated and have almost lost hope of ever figuring it out

so far:

No codes
Decent gas mileage 22-25 (93 octane)
New O2s
Cleaned MAF
checked all vacuum lines/Replaced a few
Cleaned ISV (helped idle)
Newer plugs/wires
No catalytic converters
I did the timing belt about 10k ago
I unhooked the EGR vacume line, plugged plenum/left other end open (EGR Mod) and it ran about as bad as it ever did... Maybe worse

Fuel pump? EGR? Injectors? ECU?... GOD??????

Any ideas?? The strangest part is how smooth and great the car runs when the hesitation stops...

Default Check the wires that go from the ignition power module to the coils.

The wires run for a good length under the Intake Manifold. Eventually the insulation will rub through and at least one ignition coil will short out.

Your engine's symptoms fit.

Default Mori, where have you been? Long time...btw....

I did do an oil analysis by Blackstone Labs, interesting and encouraging for the most part.

Default I think it's me

I felt a great disturbance in the Force, as if millions of voices suddenly cried out in terror and were suddenly silenced. That's why I'm here. ;-)

Default Well, did you check those wires?

At least marginal feedback is appreciated. Otherwise, why would I waste my time even posting?

Default Re: Well, did you check those wires?

Thank you for your help and Im very sorry for not posting back Im in the middle of finals in 3 classes and am probably going to develop an aneurysm before the semesters done with.. haha

I checked the wire and as far as I can see the insulation is intact. that doesent mean it isnt rubbing through where I cant see so I will have to try and snake it out this weekend. I also checked for arcing last night and there was none.

Its also strange to note that its been very wet the past couple days and the cars been running much better 90% of the time, coincedence? I dont know...

Again, thanks for the help and I realy do appreciate the posts you make here they have helped me big time in keeping this car going strong.

Default Good luck

Sorry for snapping. They've been chiseling away at my sanity lately. :-p

The coil wire issue showed up intermittently until I drove in a torrential downpour for a few minutes. Then things went bad -- really bad. Considering the wire routing I would not be surprised if your problem is in that area. Otherwise, I think you've pretty much exhausted all possible causes. There's also a chance that it's a compound problem: a little vacuum leak and a slightly out-of-spec MAF or something.
