Vacuum problem
what would cause low vacuum when accelerating..
for a while now I noticed that the recir vent opens when I hit the gas then closes after.
I can't locate any leaks and the car runs and idle's fine.
it does this no matter what speed I am going or how hard or soft I press the pedal

The system has a reservoir on the left side of the heater box..
<center><img src="http://pictureposter.audiworld.com/87187/vacuum_system.jpg"></center><p>The manual says to remove the hose going to the two way valves and connect a vacuum gauge to the reservoir. Run the engine for a minute and switch off. The vacuum in the reservoir should not drop by more than 3in after two minutes.
Hose 1 comes from the engine and component 6 is the actuator for the recirculation flap.
