So, i called Navteq today and they haven't updated Q5 for a while. They only say they update Audi once a year. I've asked how can we know when and what was updated, they asked for my email so they can send me the noticed once its out to Audi. Let's see if that ever works out.

The nav and the power steering whine in the 2.0t is why I traded for a 2013 A6. I do not think Audi will support the old style 2012,11,10 etc. as the technology changed. It is not right, But they have done nothing to remedy it to date and the new audi models have the new system. It is terrible to have a 2012 model, as I did and have maps that are three years old or older!
Looks like same old finger pointing between Audi and Navteq, sorry state of affairs.

I was recently told that my 2010, which has version 5.3.4, has an update available to 5.5.6. I had it scheduled to be updated when I did my 25k service. However, when I went to do the service, they recommended that I not do the update as they were expecting 2013 maps to come in any day, and that I should just hold out for that rather than pay for the upgrade now and another when the 2013 came out.
I have no idea what version the 2013 is, or if it's really coming out, but I imagine he must have at least truly believed it was, otherwise why would he advise me NOT to get a service (the update) done? All it did was cause them to lose money...

Well, if it's the version that ships on 2013 models (I'm in Canada, so no Google maps for me), then it's pretty current. The only roads I've found that it's missing, weren't open yet when my Q5 was rolling down the assembly line.
