OBD II not ready??/

OBD II not ready??/
So go for first sticker with new (new to me) A4 and it fails because OBD system is ready. Not sure why but figure maybe I didn't drive car long enough prior to going for sticker so drove it today about 2 hours then brought it in and get same thing.
Has NE1 come across this? Car has not been touched for over a month, battery has not been touched as form suggested.
Curious on everyone thoughts about this.
