Variable Timing

The drivers side camshaft pulley was bent...It broke both solenoids...I removed what I would call the Camshaft adjuster plate...I noticed 3 metal seal that would resemble a small engine piston rings...I am going to get a new gasket, camshaft seals, and a couple O rings for the solenoid piece...What is the proper procedure to reinstall this cam shaft piece...How do I compress the rings to install the plate...Is there a specialty tool???Or do I just use a couple pics to compress them as I push the plate on...Anyone have any thoughts...
